Creating this Pumpkin Graveyard Diorama was a lot of fun.
I cut a circle from cardstock to fit into the bottom of the pumpkin. Then, I cut a washcloth to fit and painted it with dark green and black to make it look like the ground at night.
I found an eerie photo on the internet to use as a background. A haunted house added the perfect mood. I found pictures of gravestones which I printed on cardstock and cut out. I glued straight pins to the back to use to anchor them to the ground. I put some sphagnum moss around for dead vegetation.
I am being accused of being a mass murderer because I cut up a skeleton and aged it. I put the hands and feet sticking out of the ground like it is trying to escape. I put the ribcage in the weeds and the head near a headstone.
I found what looked like dead trees in the artificial plants I had and painted them brown. That gave it a feeling of completion.
